Shom-i-Kathak

Renowned Kathak artist Ms. Vidha Lal and her ensemble enthralled audiences with a spellbinding evening of Indian classical Kathak at Sooroosh Hall, Dushanbe, hosted by the Embassy of India and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, with ICCR’s support.

Graced by Tajik dignitaries, diplomats, local artists, and guests, the concert, held as part of ICCR’s 75th anniversary, celebrated India-Tajikistan bonds through Kathak’s timeless grace. A unique Kathak fusion with a Tajik tarana by Indian artists stole hearts, earning warm applause.

Ambassador Mr. Rajesh Uike emphasized cultural exchanges and the strengthening of bonds of friendship through the shared heritage of music and dance, and thanked Tajikistan’s government for their support of the event.

A mesmerizing evening of Indian Classical Dance unfolded in Dushanbe!   
The renowned ICCR cultural troupe, led by the talented Ms. Vidha Lal, captivated audiences with a breathtaking performance of Kathak at the prestigious International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship, Dushanbe, as part of the grand celebration of the ‘Day of Capital City-Dushanbe’. 

The event was a vibrant showcase of India’s rich cultural heritage, enthralling students, faculty, and distinguished guests, including esteemed alumni of ICCR and ITEC programs. The graceful movements and intricate rhythms of Kathak left the audience spellbound, fostering a deeper appreciation for the art form and strengthening cultural ties between India and Tajikistan.
