On 28 May 2020, a special Air India flight AI-1983/84 organized by Government of India delivered 4.6 tonnes of medical supplies to the friendly people and Government of Tajikistan to support their fight against Covid19 pandemic.
The consignment was handed over to the First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Ms. Umarzoda Saida Ghayrat, Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Saidzoda Zohir Ozod amd representative of Tajik Agency for State Reserve by the Ambassador of India to Tajikistan Mr. Viraj Singh at a handing over ceremony at Dushanbe International Airport.
The flight brought home one Tajik citizen, who was studying under India’s ITEC program and could not travel back due to Covid19 pandemic. On its return, the Air India flight took back 143 Indian citizens from Dushanbe to Jaipur (Rajasthan).
