The event held from 07:30 AM to 09:00

enthusiasts who participated in a mass yoga session under the theme “One Earth,
One Health.” Participants joined
millions worldwide in honouring and practicing yoga, an ancient Indian
tradition recognized by the United Nations since 2014 as a global symbol of
wellness, harmony, and peace.
The celebration, supported by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, was graced by H.E. Mr. Sulfiqor
Ahmad Gulahmadzoda, Chairman of the Committee of Youth Affairs and Sports, H.E.
Mr. Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, and senior
officials of the Government of Tajikistan. India’s Ambassador to Tajikistan,
Mr. Rajesh Uike, welcomed the participants and spoke about yoga’s growing
popularity in Tajikistan.
The 11th International Day
of Yoga in Dushanbe highlighted the strong cultural ties and mutual
appreciation between India and Tajikistan, uniting communities in a shared
commitment to health and harmony. The event featured a mass yoga session led by
chief instructor Umeda Pirmatova, whose dedication has inspired many in
Tajikistan to embrace yoga. Participants practiced asanas (physical postures)
while reflecting on yoga’s values of compassion, mindfulness, and inner
strength, which foster resilience in today’s challenging world.
Many fitness clubs and health studios
in Dushanbe now offer yoga classes led by trained instructors, and numerous
individuals have already integrated yoga into their daily lives for its positive
health benefits. Over the past week, the Indian Embassy also organized several yoga
activities across Dushanbe to promote awareness and encourage healthier, more
mindful lifestyles, receiving enthusiastic participation from the local
community.
