Press Note

The Embassy of India in Dushanbe, in collaboration with the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of Tajikistan, the Dushanbe City Administration, and MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, will organize a community run on 28 September 2025 in Dushanbe. This event will be held under the joint banner of the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 and the 4th Annual India–Tajikistan Friendship Run. The event forms part of Seva Pakhwada (17 September – 2 October 2025), celebrated as Seva Parv, which embodies the spirit of Seva Bhav (service) and collective responsibility, while also highlighting the deep bonds of friendship between people of both countries.

Seva Pakhwada, also observed as Seva Parv, is a fortnight dedicated to service, responsibility, and collective effort, reflecting the spirit of Seva Bhav. During this period, activities are organised in India and abroad to promote social responsibility, civic participation, and community service.

The Viksit Bharat Run 2025, the key highlight of this year’s Seva Pakhwada, will be held across over 150 cities worldwide under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation.” The initiative commemorates the 75th birthday of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and reinforces the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. In Dushanbe, this joint event also marks the 4th India–Tajikistan Friendship Run, which annually draws over a thousand participants, including Tajik youth, sportspersons, members of the Indian community, and Indian medical students in Tajikistan.

The event will feature a Community Run of 3.4 km and 7.8 km, commemorating the 34th and the 78th anniversary of the Independence Day of Tajikistan and India, respectively; where Tajik citizens and the Indian diaspora will come together under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation.” The Indian diaspora will also take the Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat Pledges, reaffirming their commitment to a Self-reliant and Viksit Bharat (Developed India). The event will also feature yoga demonstration and cultural performances by students of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Dushanbe.

We invite all members of the Indian diaspora, friends of India, local community members, and residents of Dushanbe to actively participate, take pride in their cultural heritage, and spread the spirit of Seva and Atmanirbhar Bharat across the world, while celebrating the enduring friendship between people of both countries. Joining this initiative will strengthen bonds of friendship, helping create a network of support, inspiration, and shared purpose.
