Gandhi Jayanti Celebration and Viksit Bharat Run 2025 / October 02, 2025
The Embassy of
India in Dushanbe, Tajikistan celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti today. The special
feature of the celebration was the Viksit Bharat Run 2025, organized by
the Embassy, in collaboration with MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth
Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The Viksit Bharat Run 2025, has been
held across over 150 international locations, marked a global celebration of
service, fitness, and sustainability.
In Dushanbe, the run witnessed
enthusiastic participation from the Indian diaspora, local communities,
students, professionals, and friends of India. The run, conducted as part of
Seva Pakhwada (17 September - 2 October), also reflected India’s transformative
progress in infrastructure, healthcare, technology, education, and
sustainability under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under
the theme “Run to Serve the Nation,” over 150 participants from diverse
backgrounds came together for a community run, delivering a powerful message of
unity and reinforcing a shared aspiration for growth, innovation, and global
leadership.
Floral Tribute
and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge: A highlight was the floral tribute to the bust
of Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti, followed by the collective recitation of
the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge. The Indian community in
Dushanbe reaffirmed its commitment to the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit
Bharat, a developed India by 2047. The event also embodied India’s Swadeshi
ethos, emphasizing self-reliance, inclusivity, and environmental
responsibility.
Ek Ped Maa Ke
Naam - A Green Commitment: The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign was warmly
embraced in Dushanbe, with community members and friends of India planting
saplings at the embassy premises on different occasions. The events also
highlighted Mission LiFE, promoting sustainable lifestyles and environmental
consciousness, underscoring the link between personal responsibility and
planetary sustainability. This act served as a living reminder of India’s
commitment to building a greener planet.
Diaspora
Engagement and Global Partnerships: The Viksit Bharat Run fostered diaspora
engagement and youth mobilization, with Indian Missions partnering with
community groups, cultural bodies, and local organizations worldwide. It
embodied the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – “the world is one family.”
Indian communities globally ran together, celebrating their heritage and
reaffirming their role in India’s journey toward Viksit Bharat. Notable members
of the Tajik community, including Padma Shri Dr. Habibullo Rajabov and the
Tajikistan-India Friendship Group in Dushanbe, supported the initiative,
highlighting the global resonance of India’s development story. The Viksit
Bharat Run 2025 conveyed a powerful message of unity, resilience, and shared
responsibility while showcasing India’s cultural and developmental strides.
