Ambassador H.E. Mr. Rajesh Uike
Ambassador Rajesh Uike took charge as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Tajikistan on 11 March 2024. Prior to this, Ambassador Uike served as Joint Secretary in the External Publicity & Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
Ambassador Rajesh Uike joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2006. In his last diplomatic assignment abroad, he served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Hanoi. He has also served in the Embassy of India in Moscow, and the High Commission of India in Dhaka.
In the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, Ambassador Rajesh Uike has served in the United Nations Political Division, Southern Division, Eurasia Division, and External Publicity & Public Diplomacy Division in different capacities. Ambassador Rajesh Uike holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. He worked for the Indian Railways and also in automobile and IT sectors before joining the Indian Foreign Service.
Rajesh Uike is proficient in Hindi and English. He also possesses working knowledge of Bangla and Russian.
