Cultural Cooperation

 

1.Cultural cooperation between India and Tajikistan is at excellent level. There has been a regular exchange of cultural troupes between the two countries. A rather significant Cultural Exchange Program for 2018-2023 was signed between the two countries.

 

Cultural Troupes (Incoming / Outgoing)

2006

 

2. 60-member Cultural troupe Rukhsana visited India in January 2006 under ICCR invitation. Indian cultural troupes participated in the International Music Festival “Sadoi Dilho” organized by Tajik Governmentin September, 2005.

 

3. 11 member Indian cultural troupe Performing Odissi and Sufi music visited    Dushanbe and other cities in August 2006.

 

2007

 

4. A Manipuri Martial arts troupe visited Tajikistan in August 2007 and performed in Dushanbe    and Khujand.

2008

 

5.Cultural troupe (One Kathak dancer and two singers of Bollywood songs) performed in the open-air theatre in Dushanbe in April, 2008. 

 

6. Days of Tajik Culture in India were held in October 2008.

 

2009

 

8. 10-member composite group comprising of Kuchipudi dancers and Hindustani Vocalist performed at Ayni Opera and Ballet Theatre on 28th March and at Indian Cultural Centre on 29th March, 2009.

 

9. ICCR cultural troupe consisting of Sitar and Percussion group performed at the Indian Cultural Centre on 22 May 09 and at Philharmonia hall on 23 May 2009.
10. 08- member Qawaali group visited Tajikistan from 08-12 October to participate in the International Falak Festival and also gave a performance in Hotel Hyatt Regency in Dushanbe organised by Agha Khan Foundation on 10th October and in Khujand on 12th October

11. A 15 member ICCR cultural troupe consisting of Bhangra and Gidda groups performed at the celebrations of Tajik Independence Day on 08 September 2009 in Kohi Borbad, Dushanbe during the visit of Hon’ble President of India to Tajikistan. Also, they performed in Hotel Hyatt Regency, Dushanbe.

2010

12. A-17 member Tajik Cultural Troupe consisting of dancers and musicians from the musical group "Jahonora" and 5 artisans took part in the Surajkund Crafts Mela organized by Haryana Tourism from 01-15 February 2010.  The group was headed by Mrs. Azizi Farogat, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan.  This was the first time that Tajikistan has participated as a "partner country" in the Surajkund Crafts Mela.

 

2011

13. A 24-member Tajik Cultural troupe consisting dancers and musicians from famous musical group Chamanoro of Khojant (Sughd Province) and 5 students of Indian Cultural Centre of Embassy participated in Surajkund Craft Mela, organized by Govt. of India and Haryana Tourism from 01-15 February 2011.

 

2012

14.  A 15-member Tajik Cultural troupe consisting 10 Tajik artists and craftsmen selected by Ministry of Culture of Republic of Tajikistan and 5 Tajik students of Indian Cultural Centre of Embassy participated in Surajkund Craft Mela, organized by Govt. of India and Haryana Tourism from 01-15 February 2014.

 

2013

15.A 15-member Tajik Cultural troupe consisting 10 Tajik artists nominated by Government of Tajikistan and 5 Tajik students of Indian Cultural Centre of Embassy participated in Surajkund Craft Mela, organized by Govt. of India and Haryana Tourism from 01-15 February 2013.

 

2014

16. A 15-member Tajik Cultural troupe consisting 10 Tajik artists and craftsmen selected by Ministry of Culture of Republic of Tajikistan and 5 Tajik students of Indian Cultural Centre of Embassy participated in Surajkund Craft Mela, organized by Govt. of India and Haryana Tourism from 01-14 February 2014.

 

2016

17.   2 cultural troupes from India visited Tajikistan for celebration of Days of Indian culture in Tajikistan 'Namaste India" in April 2016. The troupes performed in Dushanbe and other major towns of Tajikistan.

 

2017

 

18. A 20-member Tajik cultural troupe consisting of artists, craftsmen and dancers participated in Surajkund Craft Mela organized by Government of India and Haryana Tourism in February/March 2017.

 

2019

 

19. A 20-member Tajik cultural troupe consisting of artists, craftsmen and dancers participated in Surajkund Craft Mela organized by Government of India and Haryana Tourism in February 2019.

 

20. India’s renowned Kuchipudi Dancer Ms. Boby Chakraborty and troupe visited Tajikistan and performed in Dushanbe and Panjikent.

 

2021

 

21. 11- Member Kathak and Bollywood dance troupe led by Ms. Prachee Shah Pandya performed during the SCO Summit in Dushanbe on 17 September, 2022. The troupe also performed at the Philharmonia on 18 September, 2022 in Dushanbe and on 20 September in Vahadat City.
