Respected Rector, Mr. Khushvakhtzoda,
Members of the Institute of Asian and European Countries, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a great honour for me to address this scientific
seminar organized on the occasion of the presentation of the book “Yode Az
Hindi Buzurg” by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Sanavbarbonu
Vohidova. I would also like to warmly congratulate the National Academy of
Sciences of Tajikistan on the 75th anniversary of its establishment
— a remarkable milestone that reflects decades of dedicated service to science,
education, and intellectual development of the country.
Over the years, the Embassy of India in Tajikistan has
attached great importance to promoting academic, cultural, and intellectual
exchanges between our two nations. As part of this commitment, the Embassy has
published more than 25 books authored by distinguished Tajik scholars and
writers, contributing to deeper mutual understanding and the dissemination of
knowledge. Unfortunately, due to certain technical reasons, the Embassy was
unable to publish this particular book. However, I would like to express my
sincere gratitude to the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan for
undertaking the publication of this important work and for ensuring that it
reaches a wide scholarly audience.
As I was informed, the book “Yode Az Hindi Buzurg” holds
special significance as it presents a unique visual and documentary history of
India–Tajikistan relations. It brings together a rich collection of photographs
depicting prominent Indian political leaders, ambassadors, and other official
representatives, and their interactions with their Tajik counterparts. In this
sense, the book represents history captured through images — a visual chronicle
of diplomatic engagement, friendship, and cooperation between our two
countries.
In addition to photographs, the book includes thoughtful
articles and notes about India, offering valuable insights into India’s
history, culture, and its longstanding ties with Tajikistan. I firmly believe
that this work will serve not only as an important academic resource, but also
as a meaningful contribution to preserving the shared memory of Indian-Tajik
relations for future generations.
I once again congratulate Professor Vohidova on this
significant scholarly achievement and commend the National Academy of Sciences
of Tajikistan for its continued efforts in promoting research and international
academic cooperation. The Embassy of India remains committed to further
strengthening our cultural and scientific partnership.
